Maintaining our schools: a look at recent upgrades and improvements through photographs

From roof repairs to hazardous tree abatement, over the summer of 2009, the NVSD Facilities and Planning Department completed $1.8 million in maintenance and renewal projects throughout the School District. Many of these projects were funded through the 2008 Annual Facilities Grant (AFG) from the Ministry of Education, others were financed through capital projects funding.
As you may be aware, the AFG was cancelled for the 2009 year. To illustrate the many necessary uses of these funds in the past, we have collected a series of photographs to show how far the AFG and capital projects budgets stretched last year to maintain and improve our schools.
