Peer Leaders

Each year, Montroyal's school counsellor, trains a new group of peer counsellors, from the grade 6 classes. The peer leaders assume several important leadership responsibilities, particularly with the primary students. During their training session, the peer leaders are taught basic communication and conflict resolution skills. One of the important jobs of the peer leaders is their assistance on the primary playground, at recess and lunch times, at which time they play with the younger children and help them with their problems.
