Calendar

The NovaCom calendar allows events to be organized and tasks and users can be given access to view the calendar. Open the Calendar by double-clicking the icon on the NovaCom desktop.

Creating a New Event

Double-click on the day for which an event is to be created. A blank Calendar Event window will appear allowing entry of details of the event. There is also space at the bottom of the window to enter any additional details about the event.

When all event details have been entered, close the window by clicking Save and Close in the upper left hand corner of the window. The event will appear in the chosen day of the calendar. The event can be edited at a later date by double-clicking on the event itself.

Entering a New Task

Double-click in the task pane to create a new task OR click New Task on the Shortcut toolbar.

When all task details have been entered, close the window by clicking Save and Close in the upper left hand corner of the window. The task will appear in the task pane of the calendar. The task can be edited at a later date by double-clicking on the task itself.

Setting Permissions

If permissions for the calendar are not set, anyone with a NovaCom account will be able to view it. To make the calendar private or accessible only to certain people, right click the Calendar icon on the NovaCom desktop and go to Permissions on the drop down menu.

Enter the names of people who should be allowed to view the calendar into the Who: field. Next to each name, select the appropriate permission type from the drop down menu that appears upon clicking in the Access: field.

Lastly and most importantly, type “All Users” into the Who: field and select No Access in the Access: field.

Close the window by clicking on the “X” in the upper right hand corner of the window.
