Information on this website is to provide grade 8 and 9 students and their parents with the procedures, requirements, and strategies to be successful in English.

ATTENDANCE

LATES:

If you are late, wait quietly outside the door until Mrs. Mcquade invites you in.  Then quietly move to your seat without disrupting others. Frequent lates will be dealt with in the appropriate manner.

ABSENCES:

You are ultimately responsible for your own success in this class. This means you are responsible for making up all (unexcused) missed work. Report to Mrs. McQuade the first day you return from your absence to make arrangements regarding missed tests, assignments, or quizzes.

Parents:

Students are responsible for checking the website at home or in the library if they have been absent for any reason.

GENERAL RESOURCES

TEXTBOOKS : 

Textbooks should be covered for the duration of the school year. If the cover falls off, please recover the book. Spot checks will be made for book covers. You are responsible for the text signed out to you.

MATERIALS : 

Every student should come to class with highlighters, pencils, erasers, pens, paper, binder with lined paper, textbook, and Agenda. 

ENGLISH HOMEWORK CRITERIA:

1. FIRST AND LAST NAME, DATE, BLOCK, PAGE #,TITLE.

2. GOOD COPY IS TO BE DOUBLE SPACED IN INK, OR WHEN TYPED SIZE 14+ FONT. 

3. ALL ASSIGNED WORK IS TO BE COMPLETED OR ATTEMPTED.

4. BE CERTAIN TO RE-READ, REFLECT, REVISE AND EDIT BEFORE SUBMITTING ASSIGNMENTS.

5. CHEATING AND PLAGIARISM WILL NOT BE CONDONED.  

PLEASE BE CERTAIN TO READ OVER THE SCHOOL CODE OF CONDUCT.

TUTORIALS

If you are starting to feel like you don't understand something, come in and ask questions! Come in after school or at lunch.
