The School District's 25 elementary and 7 secondary schools offer a comprehensive Kindergarten through Grade 12 Education Program (in English and French) consisting of over 200 provincially and locally developed educational programs and services. 

Students in British Columbia graduate from secondary school upon the successful completion of Grade 12.  Programs are designed to provide all students with the courses necessary to enter university, college, or other post-secondary education as well as the skills and training necessary to pursue career and vocational opportunities.  In addressing the wide diversity of student needs, the district also provides specialized support services for students with exceptional learning needs. 

Elementary schools provide educational programs for students in Grades Kindergarten through Grade 7. Secondary schools provide educational programs for students in Grades 8 through 12.

Schools are organized into "families of schools" with each of seven secondary schools serving a geographical "catchment" or attendance area made up of a number of elementary schools.

The District French Immersion program is offered at three of our secondary schools and seven elementary schools: six elementary schools offer an early immersion program (entry at Kindergarten and Grade 1); one school provides late immersion (entry at Grade 6); and one school offers both early and late immersion programs.

The District has alternate schools/programs including Keith Lynn Alternate Secondary School, the Youth Learning Centre, Therapeutic Day Program, and KEY Program.
