New Curriculum Pamphlet:
The Math pathways are not separated based on difficulty. ie. students should not choose foundations because they find math difficult - all pathways are difficult and challenging in their own ways. A student should choose a pathway based on what their plans are when they graduate. If they plan to enter the sciences, then they should take pre-calc. If they plan to enter the arts or nursing, then they should take foundations. If they plan on going straight to a workplace or into the trades, then they should take A&W. If a struggling student really wants to be an engineer, then they should take pre-calc. The teacher of pre-calc would then need to adapt and support the student as needed.
