Alternate Programs

Introduction

We know that no two students are alike and there’s more than one way to learn. In the North Vancouver School District, our Vision is to “support and inspire success for every student and bring communities together to learn, share and grow.” With the help of our community partners, our School District works to ensure that each of our students has the best possible opportunity for success.

For some students, learning outside a “mainstream” school environment is a better match for their learning style and personal goals. Three alternate schools and a variety of innovative alternate programs allow us to fulfill a wide range of student needs and offer an inclusive environment dedicated to the success of all learners.

*Please note that beginning in the 2012-13 school year, students at Keith Lynn Alternate Secondary, the Therapeutic Day Program and the Youth Learning Centre will be accommodated in the NVSD's new Community Learning Program at Balmoral school. Learn more here.
