Ms. MAC's Math Class
Welcome to the fun and amazing world of math...where fractions are your friend, exponent laws rule, you can never have fruit salad, the occasional story may provide a bit of distraction and you always need to be prepared to do as "Simon says"...No, I am not dillusional...sometimes a bit crazy, but really, math can be fun...or at least not as bad as you might think...
So here it is...the site to find all the answers to your class questions...(BUT REMEMBER...if you are having trouble with your homework--> you can ask me OR ask a friend OR ask another Math teacher OR the answers are in the back of the book!)
Ms MAC's Reminders:
homework is never checked...unless you were specifically told it would be
there will be a quiz every couple of classes to ensure you are keeping up with your homework and understanding what is going on in class...these are important and make up 40% of your chapter mark
you need to bring a calculator to class...Ms Mac will not let you borrow one from her because when she lent it out the last time it was stolen and never returned...
if you miss a class it is your responsibility to find out what you missed and come back to class caught up. So make a friends with someone who is reliable and be ready when you come back
if you are going to be away and you know i advance it would be "really nice" of you to let me know!
tutorial time is offered every DAY 2 at 8:10 in room 513...if I am not there have the office page me
My Birthday is on January 28th!!! Don't Forget!
GRADE 10's
Math 10 is taught sequentially...which means "in order"...so instead of me publishing each day what we worked on in class, if you are away or are just wondering what the class learned today you can either email me (tmacdonald@nvsd44.bc.ca) or assume we have learned the next section in the text book...of course the notes we took in class are much better than those from the text book so you should still check with a classmate...as for which questions were assigned - go ahead and pick a few from each section...make sure you understand the hard ones!!!
Beginning December 1, 2011 we are starting TERM 2, Chapter 4: Radicals and Exponents
