To Do This Month:
- Make sure that you have defined a clear goal. This goal can be defined as a statement, or one or more key questions, which identify the focus of your project based on one of the Areas of Interaction (see Key Terms Chart below). Your goal may change over the course of your project, but you need to be prepared to state & explain the reason why you changed goals.
- Begin finding & selecting materials and sources for your project.
- Ensure that your sources are appropriate and are from a minimum of 3 different media (books, interviews, websites, etc.).
- Take notes on your research- on index cards, graphic organizers, concept maps, etc. When taking notes, make sure you include the reference/publication information of your sources so that you can create a proper bibliography at the end of the project.
- Attach your notes to your Process Journal, or if you are keeping a video Process Journal, keep your notes in a binder or duotang that can be submitted along with your Process Journal.
- Continue to record entries in your Process Journal. By next meeting you need to ensure that you have 8 entries in your process journal (1 per week).
Key Terms (Reference Chart):
- Topic: the subject of your project
- Context: why you want to do this project...why you chose this project
- AoI: Health & Social, Human Ingenuity, Environments, Community & Service, Approaches to Learning
- Goal: the purpose of your project (what you hope to accomplish by completing your project)
