In Math this term:

We count sequentially every day and will soon begin counting up and down from a given number.

We are identifying simple patterns and creating our own.

We play "Guess my rule" where they put together a collection of objects with an attribute in common e.g. "they are all red things".  We try and guess each others rules.  I also introduce the concepts of "same" and "different".

We are learning math terminology around comparing things as we discuss our daily weather graph.

We work on matching numerals and sets from 1 - 10 and printing numbers.

At home you can practice these math and counting skills through board games with dice and card games.  Remember, just because your child can count to 10 does not mean they have a concept of number to 10.  They need to be able to match sets to numerals and numerals to sets, count sets using one to one correspondence and know what comes before and after a given number to 10.
