These procedures for registration and transfer requests are in effect for the remainder of the 2011/2012 school year. Priorities for student placement at this point in time are dependent on the available space, facilities, resources or the appropriate educational program required to meet the student's needs and the legislated priorities.
Students New to the North Vancouver School District
Students (Kindergarten to Grade 12) who are new to the school district must register in person at the Central Registration office (located at Lucas Centre, Room 102, 2132 Hamilton Ave). Children born in 2006, turning 5 by December 31, 2011, can register for kindergarten. After Spring Break (March 26, 2012) secondary schools will have a limited ability to accept new students.
Documents required for all student registration: completed student registration form, original birth certificate, proof of citizenship (if not born in Canada), proof of residence (hydro bill and/or purchase/rental agreement) and current report card. Please bring original documents.
If parents are not living together, please provide either a copy of a sole guardianship agreement or a letter from the non-registering parent indicating their consent to the registration. Another option is for both parents to come in to Central Registration and co-sign the registration form.
Transfer Requests
The staff at Central Registration will only accept transfer requests for students currently attending a North Vancouver School District school who have moved to a new residence and wish to attend their new catchment area school. You will need to fill out a Transfer Request Form and submit it in person to Central Registration Documents required: proof of residence (hydro bill and/or purchase/rental agreement). Please bring original documents.
