The Scholastic Book Fair is Coming!

Just in time for summer, we will be holding an English Scholastic Book Fair in the library from Monday, June 14th to Thursday, June 17th! Please drop by to check out the exciting books, and select a couple of titles to keep your family excited about reading all year long. Proceeds from the sale will be put toward the purchase of new books for our school library. If you are able to volunteer during that week, please let Mme McLeod know!

The Used Book Sale 2010

Thank you to everyone who helped make our Used Book Sale such a success this year! Special thank yous go to Julie Dunne, Tami Copland, Margo Smith-Kavanagh, Holly Reisner, Birte Hunter, Terri Margo, Josie Hughes, Julia Gerbrecht, Valeska Starck, Georgiana Forgusen, and Val Jessiman, who generously donated their gifts of time and effort and support to ensure that things went smoothly.

The Used Book Fair helps on so many levels:

• Donations which come into the library are sorted first in case there are beautiful copies of children's books which Mme McLeod can add to the collection or use to upgrade existing copies which are looking tattered. We would estimate having been able to add more than 300 books to the library this year from donations alone.

• Making these lovely books available to the students of Sherwood Park generates huge excitement and enthusiasm for new books and summer reading, and helps many families to keep their home stocked with books at a very affordable price.

• The proceeds from a Used Book Fair enable our school to buy the "hottest" new books for the library over the summer so that the students can see brand new exciting books when they return to school in September.
