This is a 3 or 4 page summary of a lengthy report (we have a copy at school if anyone would like to dig into it).  It helps explain the "literacies" to which we have referred at meetings.  21st Century Skills (summary)

This link is for a Power Point podcast by Ken Kay, the president of Partnership for 21st Century Skills. Although the slides are helpful, you could turn it on and just listen while working on something else (it is 56 minutes).  He discusses the changing needs of students over time, with emphasis on the thinking, learning and life skills our children will need for the future.  Although the focus is American, the message is equally applicable.

The following is included mostly to emphasize the breadth of concern with teaching and preparing students for the future.  Time Magazine Dec 18, 2006

ICT Literacy Maps for English, Social Studies, Science, Geography and Math give examples of how ICT (Information Communication Technology) can be integrated into subject areas.  Examples have been given at grades 4, 8 12.
