Homework

Homework is an integral part of the Intermediate programme. (Gr. 4-7) We encourage all grades 1-7 students to purchase a Cove Cliff Planner which is available at the school. It is used for recording homework, personal planning, and to communicate between teachers and parents.

Assignments must be completed on time, neatly and carefully. Parents should make themselves aware of long term projects and daily assignments by checking their child’s daily planner. Check with the teacher if your child regularly tells you that he/she doesn’t have any homework. This is very unlikely!!

Primary children’s homework is not structured in the same way. Children should be read to and/or read every day. Your child’s teacher will advise you of any other work that should be undertaken (e.g. drilling on math facts, spelling study, looking for pictures of animals, finding out the day’s weather forecast etc.).

Your active involvement in supporting learning may very well make the difference between successful days and tearful ones.
