Our Ooh La La evening several years ago intended to stimulate story culture with professional artists a la Parisien. The following programs continue to honour this culture because the art of story teach and inspire us in so many ways.
Storytellers In Residence
2009 Kelly McManus, Journalist Students learned the 5 W's on writing a newspaper article and how you have to work at listening to other people's stories that teach us about our community.
Kelly also reported in the North Shore Outlook about our Stand-Up Storytelling Evening featuring Brendan McLeod, professional word artist, and herself as MC for the event. Her front page story included photos and excerpts from Cleveland students.

2005 Tony Papa, filmmaker A Gr 4 class participated in a special documentary project with a Gemini Award director, called WordLoveWorldLove. It connected our students with those in Sri Lanka and established our sister school, Mahu Vishnu. The DVD is now being sold through the National Film Board of Canada.
Messages from the arts 2009 Stand-Up Storytelling On Thursday, April 30 Cleveland School hosted an evening of storytellers that spanned from a professional word artist, Brendan McLeod to Gr 3 students telling a life experience to an energetic audience. Some poets and storytellers accompanied their stories with music and others with their dad! Thank you to Kate Strachan for the campfire design, Jim Rowe for lighting and Max (Gr 7) for the cover of our journal.
