Knitwits - Carson South

Tuesdays & Fridays
@ lunch

Knitwits, Carson's very own knitting club, was started in 2010. After teaching herself to knit, Mme Ross invited students to set their yarn and needles loose in her classroom at lunch. In one year, Knitwits members crafted over 30 toques and scarves, which were handed out at shelters on the downtown east side. This year, Knitwits meetings have migrated to Mme. Ross's new classroom, where beginner to expert knitters continue to spend lunch hours eating and knitting for the benefit of others. Our hats and scarves will still be donated to Downtown Eastside shelters, and for those seeking a challenge, we will be knitting baby booties for premature babies at our local hospital. Everyone is welcome and you may take on any project you can imagine, so grab your size 8 needles and your best ball of softee chunky yarn - we hope to see you there!
