Canada World Youth This opportunity is for students who would be interested in spending time exploring Canada and another country for several months, learning skills such as leadership, teamwork, communication. Students ages 17-20 are eligible. Check out the web site for more information.

Youth Challenge International Join an international team of volunteers and travel to Costa Rica, Guyana or the South Pacific regions. Participants must be 18-25 years. Work with local people on effective community-based projects and gain valuable skills. Please note that the application process takes 6 - 8 months to complete.
Encounters With Canada Are you interested in spending a week in Ottawa, attending conferences, seminars, visits, and tours designed to let you know everything about Canada, from arts and culture to Canada & the world? This program is offered at different times from September to May.
Katimavik Looking for a little adventure after you graduate? The Katimavik program is an excellent opportunity for students planning to take a year off before entering university. Participants in the Katimavik program will spend a total of 7½ months at 3 different regions of Canada. They will live with a group of their peers and project leaders, embarking on various volunteer and community projects. Katimavik covers the cost of transportation, food, lodging and recreational activities. Each participant receives a $1,000 bursary at the end of the program.
GAP - Overseas Exchange Volunteers Students spend up to 10 months working as assistants in private schools or in community facilities such as long term care hospitals.
AFS Interculture Canada Offers year long, semestered, and summer exchange programs for 15-18 year old students to spend one school year (or less), living with a host family in one of 55 countries. Financial aid is available.
