Cuts for Cancer
This event was launched by Alyssa Salt, a grade 10 student who wanted to donate her hair for wigs for children with cancer. From there, the student council
decided to challenge the students to donate on average $2 each. Mr. James agreed that if this amount was beaten ($600), he would shave his head as a token of empathy
for cancer patients who have lost their hair. Spurred on by her friends another courageous young
lady, Kiyomi Bjornson, also donated her lovely long hair for a wig.
To show their support several other students took this brave step.
At the end of the event, the students and the staff had donated over $1,000!
