Grade 8-10
FRENCH: LANGUAGE B French (Language B) is a required part of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme over all three years; it is not an elective. Not only is French a requirement of the IB MYP, but most BC universities require a Grade 11 equivalent of a second language for admission. The modern foreign language classroom is an ideal environment for students to explore and develop the concepts of Internationalism and Global Citizenship which are fundamental to the IB MYP programme. One of the aims of this programme is to develop curiosity, interest and enjoyment in the target language. In all three grades of French, Discovering French Nouveau programme is used.
