new 2012 Girls Rugby Provincials new
Huge congratulations to the Girls Rugby Team on winning the Provincial title on Saturday! They defeated GP Vanier 10-5 in the final match. The win marks Carson's 8th title in nine years!

Senior Boys
The Senior Boys won the Lower Mainland Championship / New Zealand Shield title by beating St George's 29-13. The boys now head for the Provincials.

Senior Girls

Huge congratulations to the Girls Rugby Team on winning the Provincial title. They defeated GP Vanier 10-5 in the final match. The win marks Carson's 8th title in nine years!

The Girls Rugby Team also won the Vancouver & District Championships on May 14th defeating Lord Byng in the final.

Junior Boys
Congratulations to the Junior Boys Team for winning the North Shore Championship and Vancouver and District Championship by beating Collingwood 18-12.

X-Country Skiing

Congratulations to Fred and Katie Weaver who recently competed in the Cross Country Ski Nationals in Quebec. Fred won a gold medal in the team sprint two man relay and Katie won a silver medal in the sprint and placed 4th and 7th in two distance races.

BC High School Wrestling Championships

Congratulations to the Carson Graham Girls Wrestling Team for winning the Provincial Championships held Penticton. Special congratulations to Cholena Horne and Arielle Marsel MacKenzie for winning gold, Gayle Fearnley and Brandy Perry for winning silver, and Emma Hughes for placing fifth. Cholena was undefeated this entire season, going 26-0, and winning a BC High School title in the process. This follows up on her gold medal at the Western Canada Summer Games in August, where she was also undefeated.

On the boys side, Arthur Blasczyck and Nathan Yanagiya were both fifth in an extremely competitive tournament.

Basketball

Congratulations to the Senior Boys Basketball Team on winning the Howe Sounds! The Eagles also finished first in the North Shore AAA league at 2-0, the only undefeated team in league play! Well done boys!!

Football


Two of our Carson North students represented Canada in football in San Antonio, Texas. Keishon Ross, and Brayden Belleville played for the U-15 Canadian Team. Brayden was presented Canada's MVP award by Snoop Dog, his TD catch was named offensive play of the game.

This is only the second time that players of this age have had an opportunity to represent their country in football. Congratulations to both players!!!

Congratulations to Nick Termansen, who chose to accept a scholarship to UBC to play football for the Thunderbirds next year. Nick will be working towards a degree in Human Kinetics.

Carson 2011 grad Katie Wuttunee was recently in the news when she transfered to the Heat the UBC Okanagan volleyball team.

Congratulations to Carson alumni Alexandra McCawley on her nomination for BC High School Female Athlete of the Year. Alex participated in basketball, field hockey and rugby at Carson in the 2010-2011 school year. Alex is currently attending Standford University on a Field Hockey scholarship.

The award ceremony and dinner is scheduled for March 8, at the River Rock Show Theatre in Richmond. Visit SportBC.com for more information.


Congratulations to Carson alumni, Amanda Bird (Grad 2010), a sophmore at Princeton, for being named an All American (Second Team).

Stewart Sweeps America East Field Hockey Awards

STANFORD, Calif.- Another week, another NorPac Rookie of the Week award for Carson alumni Alex McCawley.

McCawley was named the NorPac's West Division Rookie of the Week for Oct. 25, collecting her fifth such honor this year and fourth over the last five weeks.

Hamilton Named America East Rookie of the Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - University of Maine freshman field hockey back Annabelle Hamilton (North Vancouver, British Columbia) had a fantastic week on the turf for Maine, earning herself America East Rookie of the Week honors as announced by the conference on Tuesday.Hamilton now has six points on the season and has also been playing solid defense in just her first season with the Black Bears.


Carson Graham Alumni Jason Marshall

The Province newspaper had some coverage of the Rugby Canada win at the World Cup - No Rest for Wicked Canucks

A huge part of the win over Tonga was Carson Graham grad Jason Marshall's performance. He started tighthead prop (#3) in the game.

Jason was a three sport star at Carson who went on to get a full scholarship at SFU in football as a QB. After graduating he switched back to Rugby and is a key player on the Canadian National Rugby Team.
