Supervision Recess and Lunch

Supervision of Children

During lunch and recess times, supervision aides supervise children’s activities in the building and on the playground.  Children must stay on the school grounds from the time they arrive until dismissal after school.  The only exception is if they are going to their own homes for lunch.  This means students may not leave the school grounds at recess or lunch without written permission from their parents submitted to the main office.

Lunches

Whenever possible, we encourage you to have your child go home for lunch.  This provides for a change of scenery, exercise and a "home cooked" meal.  However, when this is not possible, children may bring their lunches to school.  Lunch at school is considered a privilege for students.  Our basic rules must be adhered to or the student will be asked to eat lunch at home.  Children who stay for lunch must not leave the school grounds without written parental permission submitted to the main office.

Inclement Weather

Children need the opportunity to go outside for fresh air and play during recess and lunchtime at school.  We will expect all students to be properly dressed for the weather of the day and to go outside.  On days of “heavy” rain, a 12 noon PA announcement will invite students to stay indoors.
