Class Representative Coordinators:
Organizes e-mail communications by classroom; helps solicit class reps and ensures timely and accurate information is communicated to parents when needed.
Newsletter Editor:
Creates monthly PAC newsletter by liaising with parents and executive for news items. Works with school staff to post newsletter on website.
Forms:
Creates the newsletter, based on content from Newsletter Editor, and BPAC forms for events and activities. Events Coordinator:
Organizes events for school community.
Hot Dog Day Coordinators:
Schedules and organizes hot dog days; coordinates volunteers and works with food suppliers.
Pizza Day Coordinator:
Schedules and organizes pizza days; coordinates volunteers and works with food suppliers.
Magic Lunch Box Coordinators:
Schedules and organizes Magic Lunch Box days; coordinates volunteers and works with food suppliers.
Traffic Safety and Playground Coordinator :
Works with school staff, parents and district to address all safety related issues at school. Coordinates planning and advises on proper and safe design of our school playground areas.
Bike/Walk to School Coordinators:
Advocates for active and safe transportation of children and families to and from school, organizes Bike Safety Week each spring for Grades 1-3.
Lice Check Coordinator
Works with school staff to organize school-wide lice check three times each year.
Staff Luncheon:
Organizes the annual staff and teacher appreciation lunch in the spring. It’s a buffet, with food donated by the parents.
Emergency Preparedness Coordinator:
Coordinates a team of volunteers to assist with emergency preparedness, classroom kits, supplies and workshops for parents and staff as required.
Parents for French Representative:
Attends Parent for French meetings as a Braemar Representative and reports back to PAC.
Parents for Science Coordinators:
Works with staff, parents & community to provide a more enriching science environment for students.
Executive Positions
- Chair or two co-chairs
- Treasurer
- Assistant Treasurer
- Members-at-Large (one of these is usually from the Grade 7 Committee, to ensure liaison with that group)
District of North Vancouver PAC Representative:
Attends District PAC meetings (monthly) as a Braemar Representative and reports back to PAC.
School Planning Council:
Represents parents and works with principal on the annual school plan, keeps PAC members updated and presents final draft at April meeting.
Gifted Program Representative:
Liaises with District Gifted Resource Program and parents at Braemar with children in the gifted program.
Playground Enhancement Coordinators:
Works to ensure playground and equipment meet needs of the school.
