Boundary > > Brown Bag Lunch

Brown bag Lunch is a unique program in which seniors from the community, once a month, join our students in the school for lunch.   Our PAC coordinates the program and each class in the school takes a turn having lunch with and entertaining the seniors.

Brown Bag Lunch is a community based program that was created well over 25 years ago at Boundary Community School.

Our guests bring their own brown bag lunches on the buses with them.   Parents from each sponsor class come and help set up tables, chairs, themed centre pieces, tea and coffee and of course the every popular treats.   The students meet and usher their guests (often with a lot of parents help) to chairs, and serve them coffee or tea.

Students and teachers often have recitals prepared.   This is the perfect opportunity for students at Boundary to showcase their talents.   The seniors love being entertained by the children and are very pleased to hear piano, band pieces, singing, dancing, recitations etc. (the list is long) that have been created and shared at Brown Bag Lunch.

This program is truly community based program bringing seniors, children, parents and   teachers together. The magic that happens when these two groups are brought together is incredible. It is a privilege to have this program supported in our school by staff and families.
