Reading 44 Workshops

The “Introduction to Reading 44” Workshop is a three-hour interactive session where participants learn about a balanced classroom reading program as well as understand how to use the resource book.

It is strongly suggested that a workshop be offered to teachers at the same time as the Reading 44 is implemeted.

1. Introduction to Reading 44

2. Introduction to Reading 44 Primary Workshop

3. Introduction to Reading 44 Intermediate Workshop

4. Introduction to Reading 44 Secondary Workshop

The following workshops highlighting parts of the Reading 44 program in more depth are available after teachers have had the introductory workshop. All of these workshops can be designed for primary only, intermediate only, elementary or secondary staffs.

• Instructional Activities with fiction or non- fiction text – 2 hours

• Guided Reading – 2 hours (elementary only)

• Reading Assessment – 2 hours

All workshops are also available in French for immersion teachers.
