Reading 44 is a classroom reading program written by teachers of North Vancouver School District in British Columbia, Canada.

It was designed, developed and implemented at the kindergarten, primary, intermediate and secondary levels (K-10) by teams of North Vancouver teachers to meet the School Districts’ goal to ensure all students have the ability to read proficiently.

The program is based on the belief that the ability to read is fundamental to success in all educational programs.

The accompanying Reading 44 resource books have made a positive impact on the teaching of reading both in North Vancouver and throughout the province of British Columbia.
