5 Community Support
Community Support is an aspect of Safe and Caring Schools. Community Support refers to the integration and coordination of outside services with students and school-based programs. Examples of community support are:
- involvement of community health nurses in schools
- on-site drug awareness classes
- accessibility to Youth Outreach Workers
- referrals to Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services
- involvement of RCMP Youth Intervention Unit Officers (previously known as school liaison officers)
