School code of Conduct

In the North Vancouver School District, we believe that learning is an essential part of becoming a good person and a solid citizen. School should be a place for safe, positive, and meaningful learning. The community of people involved with this school has developed a Code of Conduct that ensures a positive learning environment where students can feel safe and have every opportunity to be successful in their learning. Good student conduct is based on the principle of respect for oneself and for others. The following set of standards have been created in consultation with the school community and is designed to provide guidelines for appropriate student conduct while under the jurisdiction of the school, when traveling to and from school, and when attending a school function. In summary, every member of our learning community must meet or exceed our high expectations.

It is expected that all students will:

  • respect our learning environment by making positive choices about their own behaviour and by acting in accordance with all classroom rules and our Code of Conduct
  • be honest, considerate, respectful and caring with others
  • be in class, actively engaged with their school work, and always trying their best to be successful with their learning
  • comply with community standards and laws – failure to do so may result in school consequences, immediate suspension, and/or involvement of the R.C.M.P.
  • accept personal responsibility for their choices and behaviour and the consequences which may result
