Welcome to North Vancouver Continuing Education at the Lucas Centre! We are pleased to offer two distinct programs; Adult ESL and high school completion through Distributed (online) Learning.

Adult ESL:

Our Adult ESL program includes the Literacy Foundations curriculum levels 3-7 and English 10, 11, and 12. The program is designed to allow new Canadians to gain experience in listening, speaking, reading, and writing and enable them to become proficient in English. The adult courses are organized in 9 week blocks, with students attending classes 2 1/2 hours per day, Monday to Friday.

Distributed Learning:

The Distributed Learning program provides both high school aged students and adults with an alternative method to complete many of their high school graduation courses. Students will work both independently and in conjunction with their instructors and peers using on-line courses, web tools, e-mail and phone. Students will also have full access to the Distributed Learning Centre located at the Lucas Centre, which will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. The DL Centre will provide face-to-face interaction with teachers, access to a computer lab, and tutoring support. Successful online students are self-motivated, comfortable with technology, and thrive in a self-paced environment.
