WHAT ARE DISTRIBUTED LEARNING COURSES?

Distributed Learning or Online courses in North Vancouver are regular high school graduation courses that provide students with an alternate method of delivery.
Students must have access to a computer and the Internet.

With this option students are able to complete courses:
            • from any location they choose (some exams might need to be completed
              in person)
            • at the pace they choose
            • at the time of day they choose

It is important to remember that while there is a great deal of independence expected of students, there is always a teacher available to assist students via email, chat, face-to-face, and online tools.

Deadline for registration for 2009/10 Distributed Learning courses is TUESDAY, MAR 16, 2010.

WHAT TEACHERS PROVIDE

            • a structure to the course
            • learning opportunities
            • direction as students proceed through the course
            • assistance (via email, chat, online tools, face-to-face)
            • assessment (assignments, quizzes, tests)
            • an environment for communication and instruction.

If you think this sort of course might work for you, please refer to the section entitled Is Learning Online for You?
