CAN I STILL REGISTER FOR 2009-10 CLASSES?

No, the deadline for registering for 2009-10 was March 16, 2010.  These courses must be completed by June 1,. 2010.



WHEN CAN I REGISTER FOR 2010/11 DISTRIBUTED LEARNING COURSES?

Registration for 2010/11 Distributed Learning courses begins on April 1, 2010 and is ongoing. The deadline for registering for the 2010-11 calendar year is  Tuesday, March 15, 2011.

Please consult "Registration and Withdrawal" page for details on the registration process including the "Activation Assignment" component that is now required for registration.


HOW DO I REGISTER?
  
 

Required Documentation:

1. If attending a North Vancouver School District school:

  • completed In-District registration form
  • ensure you have your school counsellor's signature on the form.
  • ensure the form gets to us via fax, in person or ask if the school will forward the form to DL School at Lucas Centre (contact information below)
  • you may wish to confirm that we have received your form by calling 604-903-3333
2. Adult, Out-of-District and Other Students
  • completed Adult/Out-of-District Registration form
  • provide 2 pieces of ID: a) a birth certificate, passport, or landed immigrant documentation AND  b) proof of BC residence (a BC Driver's licence with current address; utility bill or rental agreement)
  • current students (out of district) must supply a current timetable
  • high school graduates must provide a transcript
  • Non-BC graduates should set up a meeting with the academic advisor before registering (see contact information below)

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR TUITION FREE STATUS?

Canadian citizens who fit one of the following criteria:

1. Grade 10, 11, or 12 students. Students may be enrolled in a neighbourhood school.  In order to be eligible for funding students will need to demonstrate:
  • their grade level
  • that they are not currently taking the course
  • their graduation plan, and how distributed learning courses fit within that plan
 2. Graduated students who are Canadian citizens or landed immigrants.

 
AS A PARENT, HOW CAN I HELP MY CHILD?

Parents need to:
  • help your child with the necessary technology
  • assist in setting up a daily routine and organization of assignments
  • monitor progress
  • encourage your child to ask questions when they are having difficulty
