Policy

The District recognizes the merit of adopting broadly determined statements of purpose, goals, and fundamental values. These statements reflect the unique character of the District and provide guidance to the Board as it develops policies, sets goals, and conducts the business of governing the educational affairs of the North Vancouver School District. Taken together, these statements should serve as an evolving set of objectives for everyone involved in the public education system in North Vancouver:

  • Our mission statement defines our core purpose and, as such, should be recognized, published, and promoted throughout the District
  • Our mandate is a statement of objectives and ambitions for our schools and our students. It is based on community, school, and student input and provides guidance in assessing our needs and priorities and determining our strategic plan
  • Our goals statement is an expression of the guiding principles we value.
